New to the civic world so feel free to laugh. My question is, what are the letters used to describe the tenth gen civics.... mine is 2018 hatchback EX-T......Ive seen them referred to by different letters,...like ek,eg, and the list keeps rockin.... thanks!
Those letters you see are the chassis code. For example, the EK would be attributed to the 6th gen civic hatchbacks (EK9 is the Civic Type-R) and EG is for 5th gen hatchbacks (North America had EH for the most part but the platform is more or less identical). My 2001 Civic LX coupe was an EM2. My TSX is a CU2. My old hatchback was an EH2.
For yours, the chassis code would be characters 4-6 on your VIN (as it is for basically every Honda ever. Even my motorcycles are the same). I believe it's an FK7 but I could be wrong.
To add, here's a relatively comprehensive list of chassis codes if it at all interests you. There's more to it but it'll give you a better idea of what I'm talking about.
