Hold tight my brother - you still have options before things turn bad...how did things go with audiolink? If you want to do the staffing thing, let me know. I'll get you in touch with a couple agencies that helped me get my job (twice) - it may not be the most glamorous job in the world, but it does put burritos on my plate and a roof over my head...even if you don't go temp-to-perm, temping is still a good deal for the money...

i can totally agree w/ phil, temp agencies are definitely worth the time. i was unemployed for a good year after college, but i signed up w/ a bunch of temp agencies after my bartending career didnt take off. i gotta say, you can get real lucky and get a job that you really like and the pay isnt horrible. and even when they say the job is only for a month or whatever, i had a job that was supposed to last "3-4 weeks" and i stayed there for like 6 months.
plus its a good way to get your foot in the door. once you get the first job, the agency will keep calling you with others if you got good feedback from the first thing...good luck.

Haha! Wait, could I get unemployment too? Just wondering... What has to be what in order to receive unemployment? Not that I'm planning on it or anything. Just curious...

Just go to your unemployment office and file for it....since you are in school, I don't know if you can get it, but you never know. It won't hurt you to file for it in any case.
Even if you dont get monitary compensation, they will assist in searching for a job for you, they distribute your qualifications and resume to potential employers, and they also provide tools and information on finding a job....so check it out.

Sorry Meehow, you have to be fired from a job in order to receive unemployment...If you quit or leave under mutual terms, then there's nothing owed to you by the government because it wasn't unexpected. :P
Hey Sam, pm me about that...I'm interested...
pbFoot's right, that's how I got my foot in the door with my current job and the one before it. Especially if you don't have an advanced degree (college), your drive and ability often get you into a temp-to-perm situation. After all, if they're hurting to fill the position and you already satisfy the requirements, there's no reason for them to not hire you despite not going through a formal interview process
That's how I got my position as assistant to the vice president - I didn't have 5+ years experience, but I could do the job and showed it...
