Scary thing happened Sunday morning...

I was driving home from Maggie's house (my g/f) and it was about 2:00AM. It was raining like crazy. I have pretty good tires for the rain, but I couldn't take it above 72mph in the middle lane. I was hydroplaning for seconds at a time. The front was squirming around going left and right, so I would slow down to make it stop by just letting off the gas. Passing was fun too. Not! I had to pass slowly on the left and I had to avoid the left-moft part of the left lane or else I'de spin out. I could have gone slower, but I was tired as all hell and I just wanted to go to sleep.

Anyway, that's the intro. Now on to the real gist of the matter. I saw two cars in the break-down lane and one had his hazards on. I also some one car in front of me slow down as they were passing. I slowed down too from about 70mph to about 60mph. Then as I was about 50 feet away this guy comes from the left side (left lane) with his arms up in the air and darts in front of my car. It kinda looked like he wanted to flag me down, but he was 50 feet away when I first noticed him! I couldn't stop. I braked and turned to the right hard! I somehow had the traction and I missed him by a foot on the left side of my car. Yeah, scary.

I have no idea WTF was going on, but I didn't want to stop for some crazy in the middle of the night when it was pouring cats and dogs. Right? Should I have stopped? What's your guy's opinion on this?

TwilightX is an unknown quantity at this point
If you didn't stop, I would've called the police and give them the aprroximate mile marker they were at (green signs on the side of the road every mile) - better off letting the police handle it if you're in an uncomfortable situation...I've done it before...

Man that must've been scary - you could've totally lost it and gone down yourself! Kinda like my Sunday night tailing Havok in the rain - I think I'll let him tell the story, but needless to say, I almost shat myself
