But I think for this process, we'll be fine with a run of the mill tiff I think...
Be glad you don't have to read out the specs like: 100lb dull cover with a varnish, 5 over 5, 4 colour process (which of course has to be CMYK) which bleeds and is scored, 1 perf, 2 wafer seal, self-mailer with an indicha - don't forget the population, mailing code, number of pieces, electronic files with all images inclusive...and how and when you want it delivered
Now that's a mouthful!
Haha, no mod powers!
Anyway, that Roy dude from SilentRage says he can't do gradients. Only two solid colors. So black for the outline and any solid color he has for the middle I think.
So which design are we going with? I like mine.

Hmm..so only 2 colors eh? Well, I'd still like to get a few of them. I'd like a white and silver for

It would be sweet if we can get only the colored parts as the actual sticker (as discussed before), else I'll just cut them out myself I guess. 4"x4" would be an ok size I guess? Else I would say max size be about 6"x6".
I'd also like to get a white for

Whatever size for this one is fine for me.
As we gonna go with just 1 unified design or pick and choose? Silentrage seems fine with making a couple designs for us. I'm all set to put my order in today.

Well, I PM'ed you all this but I thought I should put it in the thread anyhow:
Hi Roy,
I know you've been contacted by grey and krepoort about the Custom Concepts decal on a couple of occasions, but I figured I'd see how we can get the ball rolling - I have experience with working with print vendors before, and if your process is similar to theirs, I might be a better person to talk to about this. I have a few questions about the process and the finished product:
1. How does the print process work? Do you use something similar to a print press? And what format would you need the design to be in for optimum printing?
2. If we were to print different designs, would that effect the printing cost, and what kind of discount would we be looking at if we were to order multiple decals of the same design? (ie, is there a difference in price if we were to print 20 in comparison to 10, etc.)
3. How much would it be to order just one printed decal for an individual?
4. Is there a price difference for printing in a different colour or is that a flat rate? And if you were to print in silver, could it be a dull silver and not heavy metallic?
5. If we were to order through you, what would be the timeline for printing and eventually delivery of the decals?
6. Is price significantly effected by design? In other words, I've attached two different versions of what we're looking at for the final product - would there be a difference in price between these two designs?
7. If you were to come up with a design for our team name (I understand this is a service that you provide), would we pay per design that you make, or is it if we're not satisfied with the first design, will you be willing to redesign till we're satisfied with the finished product and no significant additional charge (you quoted someone else, I think krepoort as $20 - 50 to have a design made by you)?
8. How much per person would this run us?
Thank you very much for your assistance in this matter - feel free to contact me either by phone or email if you have any questions about this project, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. We're nearing completion and are anxious to begin actual production relatively soon.

He responded with:
What I use is a plotter to cut out the decals from sheets of vinyl.
Different designs wouldn't really up the cost, it's mostly size and quantity that determines the cost.
There is no difference in price unless you order in quantities of 50, 100, 200, etc.
One decal will depend on the size. basically if one is ordered you will be charge for the longest dimenssion $0.75 per inch.
We have many different silvers, we do have a dull silver as well as a metallic silver, the metallic silver would cost more.
Once order is received, it would take 3 days to get the order ready, and 5 business days to ship.
Once again price is determined by size. the exception is a design with a lot of detail, then there will be extra labour incvolved.
If I do charge 20 - 50 for a design, you could make a few changes. I'm not going to spend 5 hours for $50. My rate for logo's is much higher, but thoes ussually take much more time.
The cost per person will depend on the quantity ordered.

Oh yeah, he mentioned the file type he expects to me in a previous e-mail:
I can save as .eps (Encapsulated Post Script) no problem. It's a vector format, so that turns out the best.

if you guys want a sort of ballpark figure on how much this might cost, i ordered a custom decal from silentrage some time ago, and it cost me $9.75 for a set of 2. keep in mind that this was a complex design, 3 colors, and the colors were reflective. so the price reflects that. the size was about 3X3 or 4X4 ...about the same as the square logo. (i can post a picture of it when i get home)
so i know he hasnt given a quote yet, but the price should not be extreme at all since were ordering a bunch of them and the colors wont be anything special im guessing.
thanks phil, michal, and krepoort (sorry...i forgot your name
) for getting the ball rolling. hehehe i cant wait.
one Q tho, how is the payment gonna be organized? i mean i doubt silentrage is gonna want to handle each order individually...plus its gonna be more expencive for us that way...but i know not everyone feels comfy fronting money for things and hoping everyone pays up. so i guess its a logistics issue now...any thoughts?

Well, I'm sure we can put together a 'grocery list' and have them work off of that...then people can just paypal someone like me the cash and send it in like that...that should work nicely...

Actually, we were quoted prices already. $2.50 for a small decal and $5 for a large one. (I think the dimensions I asked for were like 5"x"15" or something) All that info was in the previous thread that *ahem* someone decided to lock.
Money shouldnt be an issue. Even if one person pays up front, most of us are pretty tight so I no one's just not gonna pay. And if there is any issues with that, we can always pass out the stickers during a meet.

here's mine - scanned, so no bitching about the lines:

Here's a friend of mine's design...

The style looks like tagging done in the 80's. Too ghetto for my tastes.
Unless you guys dont like the current designs, lets get the votes down and finish this.
Actually, I'm gonna start a new post.. here.
So I'm gonna ask again..
