with the kind of winters we (new england and nj/ny) have been having lately, it might not snow at all. i just put my rims on...i dont want to take them off.
im seriously thinking of keeping them on. my stock tires are pretty much bald...

Whether it snows or not it will eventually rain and freeze, and the trucks will come and lay down the sand (or salt depending on state) thats gonna suck for your wheels

Wheels are now off and m y car looks much darker without the hub-caps on.. (racer mode).
Waiting until the 1st snow fall? i too was considering that but this last rain bout we had was considered a NorEaster and had it been colder, it would've snowed... They also said, for every 1" of rain it = 1' of snow (I think)....

Is it spring yet?

Not I said the fly. Not me said the flea. I will not be swapping my wheels in the winter. This is kinda an experiment of mine. Plus I don't have my stock ones anymore since I sold them to Phil (TwilightX). Hehe, whoops! Nah, I think it'll be okay. I bet my aftermarket wheels will have more grip in the snow than those crappy Firestones. We'll see though, I'll write up a summary of my experiences after winter is over and post it in a thread. I bet it won't be that bad.

Grey i would change your mind about leaving them on for the winter, i had to leave my rims on last winter because i lost my factory lungs and my rim key. but i found them a few weeks ago. and the salt got on my rims and all the sand you can see little spots where the salt sat on the rims, so unless you plan on washing them every day, its not worth it,

PBfoot dude i think we are going to have a hell of a winter, with the warm dry summer, winter is being predicted to be a biggie

Blk4blk2k1 dont the car look so sad now, i look at it and i miss my rims

Those DV8's are too symmetrical. I know what you mean about the dark look though. It's awesome. Kinda a Darth Vader kick yo *** type thing.

I'll be repainting my wheels come spring time anyway, so I don't care if they get a little gross. I'll strip them of all the old paint and I might lighten them using Lye (eats through aluminum). Don't know what color to paint them, but I'de like them to have a polished lip. We'll see...

Yeah, NJ winters can suck...

Most of my friends removed their aftermarket rims already. I don't think I'm going to take mine off the usual driver (Z28), just put her in the garage. I'll be rockin' Oldsmobile style on those crappy days.

well due to the little snow and ice storm we had the other night i tested the tires, still slipping but not as bad as last year with my rims, now in the snow i can spin alittle and do a 0-60 in like 2 mins rather than 10 with the rims....... lol
