A little help for Twilight...
This is a call for some assistance! In a couple weeks, I will come into my possession a 1959 Vespa GS150 scooter from Scooters Originali in New Jersey. They will be flying it into the airport of my choosing, but I really don't think it's going to fit in the back of my civic
So I'm wondering if anyone has a flatbed or something that could hold the scooter for transport to my house. The scooter itself is not heavy - max 300 lbs, but probably somewhere around 200, so lifting it shouldn't be a problem. It will arrive in a crate, but I suppose we could uncrate it for transport back up to my place. Anyone that has any ideas short of me renting a van to get it here, please let me know. I've included a pic of roughly what it looks like to give you an idea of how large it is. The one pictured is a 59 VBA widebody frame, so it'll be a tad smaller all around...it fit into a UHAUL van...thanks for any suggestions!

Hmm... My dad is getting a Honda Pilot. Next year though. Hehe...
I wish I could help, but I don't know anyone with a truck or SUV that could transport that thing. Not driveable I presume?

just rent a cargo van from uhaul, penske, wherever. their like $30 for a day. We rented one a few months back to move a friend to their new off campus apartment. i think it was like tops, $40. this would be a lot easier than trying to find someone with a big suv, cause their's NO WAY that thing would fit in the back of an SUV. The shape of it is too awkward to fit on its side or right side up. Just got rent a van or a pick up.

I believe I got the correct dimensions for the scooter - as described in the manual, it says the bike measures:
67" X 41.3", or 5.7' X 3.45'
I believe it will fit in a CRV...it's going to be crated up, so I don't know how big the thing will balloon to...hope that helps for anyone who can lend a hand

You'll have to convert the dimensions, but here they are.
Cargo Volume
(cu. ft., seat up/down) 33.5/72.0
You tell me..

UPDATE
The move is on! The punks at the scooter shop decided to ship without letting me know, so it's actually here...
So calling anyone who would like to lend a hand in the morning this Saturday, we're meeting at my place and I'm grabbing the U-Haul Van at about 9:30am...I know it's madd early, but unfortunately for me, the place closes at noon.
From there, it's a short hop to chelsea, and then back to my place where with any luck we'll be unloading the scooter in my basement...any takers? Grey is going to be helpin (thank you so much bro!)
The sucker weighs about 300lbs, give or take a few pounds, and we'll have to take the crate with us since there are no disposal areas there...thanks guys!

Ah, the crate too... I'll bring those tie downs and some gloves, and a crow bar. That should be enough for the job. If you can think of any other tools that we'de need, then let me know...

Yeah, I think I have a few screwdrivers and hammers lying around.
I think Keith's (havok2k1's) tool collection is more impressive when it comes to tools for automotive jobs though.
