I totally ****ed up my undercarriage. I easily caused about $1,000 worth of damage today.
I was almost at my exit and the idiot in me just had to use the shoulder to pass some cars.
Man! This sucks. I bend, scratched, and mauled a whole lot of components under there.
#1 My Tanave Sustec UnderBrace is kinda foobar. Still wokrs I guess, but not as good as it used to. Plus I get no points for show. hehe...
#2 My front sway bar is kinda scratched. It's thick metal, so I doubt that anything else happened. I guess re-painting both front and rear sway bars will be fun. No qualms here.
#3 My exhaust pipe is bent and scratched. Now the engine sounds different. I gotta check the header/cat combo to se if anything was strained. If nothing else is bad, then I'm not that worried. I was going to treat myself to a new exhaust anyway. I already have the Random Tech. cat.
#4 The undercarriage support member on the passenger side is mauled. I need to check this out to see if it's totally dead. If it is, then I'll have to get it replaced. I drove home and it felt allright, but I would need to get this replaced to feel good about my car. I'm not sure how much this will cost me, but it won't be cheap.

ouch. Reminds me of a kinda funny story. Once I was driving and a bird was on the highway and he didn't move. I went over him keeping him in the center (between tires) as not to run him over, but my rear strut bar decapitated him. No marks on my pice though. I was like what the heck, slowed down and saw the top of his torso flopping away from his body.

I can attest to THAT! The things I drove over wth that Durango of his....
I mean..........
This is why I haven't dropped. With 17" wheels and 205/40 tires the car looks jacked, prolly 4" gap which is fugly as hell but its kinda nice taking speed bumps and steep driveways without wincing or gritting my teeth. Need some good sway bars tho

hehe... Yeah. When I get coilovers I'll probably only drop a tiny bit. Mostly in the rear to even things out and bring the nose up.
I'll be gettin' bigger tires too to help me out with bumps and what not.
I'll be gettin' bigger tires too to help me out with bumps and what not. Sounds like a plan. Can't wait for my nittos to wear out so I can increase tire size to 205/45's. I'll also eventually drop about 1" or so with some good quality coilovers. BTW if my last post seemed a bit insensitive I apologize and hope the damage to your undercarriage isn't as bad as it looks.
