so so angry
So i just got done washing my car, and i was rinseing it off. I started to rinse the rims off, and I almost had a heart attack. Right there in front of my eyes, the "black" color on the rims just washed away. BIG giant chunks of black paint were flying off it left and right. All the rims did the same thing. I would go back to the place that i got them done, but that was 2 years ago, and i doubt they will cover anything now. Will take pics later....its a real tear jerker, cause they looked HOT.

Damn, that sucks. They obviously didn't do a good job. Their prep work was shoddy I think. They should have either roughened the surface before painting, or used an adhesion promoter, or powder-coated them. There are so so many methods to use, but what they obviously did was just to shoot a coat of the color on. That's it. Well, maybe a coat of clear too...

yeah the bottom service is wicked smooth, and it is not roughed up. But I cant bring it back, its been a long time, and they most likly wouldnt fix it. I have bought some paint remover, and I am working on stripping all the paint off. Got some pics I should upload soon of the rims.

look into griotsgarage.com or something like that. they have some do it yourself stuff and it really works well. They stand behind their stuff. My dad's used the stuff on a pair of his wheels and it still looks good over a year later.
wow that is pretty bad. If I can get a hold of my friend from MA, his brother had the aftermarket wheels on his wrangler powder coated black about a year ago and they did an awesome job. Ill see if he remember or if its still around and let you know. If not, call some auto body places and ask if they know of any people that do it.
