What are our options to improve the sound system and adding an amp and subs?

We just picked up a replacement for the ole 2008 EX-L, that was rear ended and totaled. He removed all of his stereo system and we need to figure out how to spruce this car up.

Are there any direct threads to find out how to do this?

Any info to be found for stereo pin outs to pick off the high level outputs to feed to a line level converter?

From what I've seen, people been tapping the rear speaker lines (output from HU) into their LOCs (e.g. LC2i/LC7i) for ease of installation, but you'll get better results if you use the front speakers.
