i just bought a system, finally. wondering what everyone thinks..

two 12" JL Audio subs, 8 ohms
600 watt, 2 channel JL Audio 300/2 amp

i still need to mess with it, but so far it's sounding good. we're doin a false back/bottom for it tomorrow..

The 300/2 only puts out 300 watts max...did you get W0's, W1v2's, or W3v2's?

sounds like w0 or w1v2 if they are 8 ohm subs.

i really like the w1v2's, they are nice subs for the price. those subs with a 300/2 will be fine power wise, should get decent volume and great sound out of them.

sounds good. what jl's do you have? and by 8ohms u mean two 4ohms right (i just got confused a lil). im putting 2 jl audio 12w3's (not v2's) in tomorow with a rockford fosgate amp and the way im wiring it should get 500x2channel. the dam amps are from early to mid nineties lol but still good. you should definately invest in midrange speakers.




btw total noobie question but in ur sig what kinda hydraulics kit u talkin bout?

if your not going into DB competions then i'd say yes it's a good system. depending on the version of JL sub like mentioned above you may be under powering them.

i was pretty much joking but i believe jl audio is definately in the top three. (for subs and kinda amps)

i think JL is a good company but wayyy overpriced because of their popularity. you can find just as good or better products from lesser known companies.

I agree with you on the subs. w3v2, w6, w7...great subs, but they are kinda pricey. Image Dynamics will give you the same or better performance for a fraction of the cost. Also, their amps are great because of their features, even though they don't put out crazy amounts of power.
I would kill for a JL 1000/1 though!
