Big drop in mpg with new tires
Big drop in mpg with new tires
Re: Big drop in mpg with new tires
That sound way off, unless there is a big difference in tire size... maybe a mpg or 2 at most.
Newer cars come with low rolling resistance tires to help with fuel efficiency.. New tires have a higher rolling resistance that the same tire with same tire pressure as the tires wear. The expected loss is 2% to 4% in mpg difference with new tires of the same brand, model, and size.
