need new line of work in St. louis
I have been in the Branch banking world from 2001 and I want out. My biggest problem is that I have only a few collage credits so finding something else that pays well is very difficult.
Short back ground
5 years of banking
2.5 years of automotive parts retail
2 years of automotive shop service
I want to be doing more work with computers. Any one have any advice as to how I could get more into the computer industry?
Thanks
Pete

Since you are in banking, there is probably a tuition reimbursement (sp?) program, before you leave, leverage it.
Go the the local community or county college and take one or two courses that the bank will pay for (like accounting, or economics). After you pass those courses, get into a introductory computer science course.
Then, give the bank the first shot at your new skills. Search their job postings for an IT entry level job. If there are none available, ask your branch manager to talk with an IT VP.
This may work to get you more into a computer programming, analyst, or software engineering area.
GOod luck!
