Hey guys, so I'm gonna start off with saying I'm from the world of jeeps and LS drag cars and I'm totally new to Hondas. I've recently picked up a completely stock 99 auto sedan with a d16y7 and after about a week the exhaust manifold started to show some cracking until it almost completely broke apart, so i went ahead and ordered a cheap ebay 4-2-1 header and threw it on.

That being said it now has 2 spots in the rpm zone where its super raspy? Those raspy ricey sounds are pretty loud and pretty noticeable and I'm not a fan if I'm honest but the rest of the civic sound is beauty. I'm alright with a mild exhaust note but i don't want a drone or screaming exhaust on this car. I've been looking at exhaust kits to see if i can help tone it down but the only 2 "quiet" ones i can find are the Yonaka and the Apexi ws2, both of which sound perfect but are super expensive be the time i can get it shipped up here to Canada. Has anyone had any luck with a resonator to help tone it down or even a super quiet muffler they know of that could help? I'm toying with the idea of picking up another stock manifold and throwing it on but thought id ask here first. I've done a ton of googling but Its looking like a quiet exhaust isnt so popular. As long as you stay at or under 2.25" it should sound ok... not saying it will sound great though, without buying name brand.

The main reason civics unusually sound farty is that there isnt enough exhaust pressure to maintain a constant note. Usually its stock cars running cheap 3" systems designed for boost.
