So i just got a 98 ex coupe and when im driving it will just feel like its losing power even when pressing the gas if i put the pedal down the rpms kick up high and make it jerk forward but it goes. When im idling it will sputter and act like it wants to cut off sometimes almost does. Its an automatic trannsmission and i wad told it has a different engine then tranny and i was told it could use a basic tuneup and octane boodster/sea foam and it should fix. Any input or ideas?

Sounds like a fuel problem to me.
-make sure the fuel filter is less than 1 year old
-check the fuel pressure
-then check the ignition pulse (signal to the injectors to squirt fuel).
If the injectors are getting pulse and the pressure to the injectors is fine then your fuel pump is working; that should leave the injectors them selves as the fuel delivery issue. If that is the case try cleaning them, then replace them if cleaning does not work.

you can crack open the banjo bolt at the top and then turn the ignition on and see if fuel comes out. a better way would be a fuel pressure gauge. have you checked to see if the spark plugs are wet or dry after trying to start it?

check engine light comes on periodically but from what ive read online and here it sounds like the fuel filter and maybe spark plugs and cables so it could probably just use some basic upkeep will work on it this weekend and post updates. Thanks everybody!

you should find out what that code is, post the number Pxxx here.
And yeah the bolt on top of the filter, they're usually rust coloured up here, they might be gold colour when new/not in the rust belt.
