Depends what type of results you are looking for. Shorty header is going to give you more power on the top end, while a long tube header will give you more midrange power.

They are all the same diameter, but the length of the tube from each cylinder is longer or shorter. As you can see in the picture the shorty header has the 4 tubes collecting into 1 piece only after 8 or so inches. The long tube header has 1-2 feet of tube before they all come together into 1 tube.
Mid range power would be in the middle of your tach 3k-5k rpm is where you would feel the power. High end power would be above 5k rpm range before you felt anything.

Thanks for the pictures! Made it easier to visualise. I would rather have my power midrange so a long tube header will be it. Now the question is who makes better long tube headers? Or are they all the same besides the fact that some will be carb or street legal and others not?
