Transmission swap questions???
Hey Everyone,
I have a 1998 Civic EX (D16Y8) 5-speed and I'm in need of a trans. I found one online that is from a 1993 Civic EX 5-speed. It says it is compatible with any D-series engine. Is this true? My main question: is it compatible/will it bolt up in my car?
Other details: He is asking $250 for the trans itself. It has 155k on it (shifts smooth, no grinding, no pop-outs). Also, for another $50, he said he would throw in a Stage 3 clutch with only 10k on it, shifter linkage, and a new starter. Does this sound like a fair deal? I'm not too familiar with manual transmissions. Thanks for the help!
