Exhaust pipe change out

Hello, I have a 2005 Honda Civic EX and I recently had my back pipe fall off my converter from the bolts, they were rusted through.. i got the bolts out and replaced but there is now a hole in the pipe from dragging on the street.. is it easier to repair or replace the pipe?
From what i can see it looks fairly easy enough to replace it.. from my understanding I have to unbolt the two flanges, take pipe off and put new in and bolt the flanges back together. someone suggested that I also buy a new spring bolt kit for the back flange so I will just in case i do need it. Is there anything I am forgetting or didn't see. Please any info or advice on the replacement will be greatly appreciated. I also considering just patching the hole since it will be cheaper than replacing. I am fairly new at DIY on my car since my warranty just expired this year so I would love any input or warnings.
Thanks!!

Re: Exhaust pipe change out

Exhaust wprk is fairly simple...personally, I'd replace the section of exhaust, rather than patch it, as the patch never ends up being permanent for long. If you don't want to spend the extra money right away, the patch is an ok way to hold you over. In terms of what you need to replace it, it looks like you haven't forgotten anything, so good luck
