best fuel filter for D16Y7 1998 civic DX
First, what is the difference between 16010-S01-A32 and
16010-ST5-E02 honda fuel filters? Some sites say one is for my D16Y7 engine and others say the other part number is. Which one came with my car from the factory in 1998?
If I wanted, I could go locally and buy a Fram filter for a little cheaper. Which is better quality, OEM or Fram filter? What company makes the OEM filter...Filtech?
P.S. My engine has been taking multiple keyturns to start. Havent changed the fuel filter in over 20k miles. What else could be the culprit and should I examine?

16010-S01-A32
Filtech, 2, 3, 4 door cars, comes with seals.
2 and 3 door app says ALL,
4 door app says US and CAN
(About $2 cheaper than the other filter according to my catalog.)
16010-ST5-933
Toyo Roki,
listed only under 4 door car, says ALL,
same as above, mix and sell identical parts.
Supercedes to 16010-ST5-E02
Probably all exactly the same, just different manufacturers.

Your starting complaint should have nothing to do with your fuel filter.
Pressure and volume testing would prove or disprove this.

Thanks GolNat.
Thanks ezone, as many times before, your reply was what I was wanting to know.
Can I just replace the filter element instead of the entire canister?

Serious about what? Didn't know how they're manufactured.Probably going with 16010-S01-A32 (Filtech) since I don't want to deal with unmaking and remaking the canister. Its on ebay for $26. is that the cheapest place to buy them?

Look at it. You can't open it. You can only replace it.
$26.88 is MSRP.
You can get it cheaper, but is it worth it?
(I usually consider what time is worth too.)

Part #1, $19 plus shipping. Shipping charges may kill any savings though.
Someone posted this one the other day too, this is about 2 hours away from me. http://www.bkhondaparts.com/
