engine fan problem??

engine fan problem??

i have a D16Y7 and my fan wont kick on?? i hooked a wire to it and battery and it came on so i ended up wireing it to a toggle switch in my car as a temp fix so i can just turn it on manually. What could it be??

Broken. Duh.....



You should have the fan itself, a condensor fan if it has AC, a few fuses, a couple of relays, the PCM, a temperature sensor, and a pile of wire...

You need a wiring diagram and a plan.



You might be jumping the gun, too.
What makes you think it doesn't run?
What evidence do you have?

See the 2 wire sensor on the thermostat housing? Unplug it and jumper the 2 wires. Turn the key on. See if the fan runs.

my evidence is when at idle no fan comes on ha and where can i find a wiring diagram?

Ha? What?

Idle means nothing.
The fan shouldn't come on until the coolant temp at the thermostat housing is 212*F. It can take a LOOONG time to get that warm, and if there is a cold breeze it may never need to run the fan.


Got AC? At least one fan should run when the AC runs.
