Have to do hg swap
Have to do hg swap
have to pull my engine open and swap and hg and maybe head.
I am really new to working on my car and was wondering if there are some basic things i can do for engine life and maybe performance while i have it that apart.
Im not looking to spend alot of money but i was thinking like timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, things like that. like are there any sensors or relays lol or anything i should look at or think about changing.
btw my car is a honda 00 b16 em1. has 159,000 and is in decent condition not great.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Get the tensioner pulley for the timing belt, along with the rest of that stuff. Remember: If that timing belt breaks, it bends valves.
Why the head gasket?
If it overheated badly, the head may be warped (the usual problem). Machine shop time.
If it REALLY got hot, the rings may have been damaged. Oil consumption, compression loss, etc.
