Fly,
Thanks for starting a new thread. I don't know about other people but if so many people want to get this dyno why not contribute. I don't mine contributing if it is a $30 or $50 to get this thing dyno; and I'm not even thinking about buying it. Think about it, if there are 30 people interested then thas one dollar each or about $1.60 (USD) for the $50.

So they have it on their website, are they done producing them or what?
edit: nm thats for 6th gen Civics.
BTW I see a nitrous injected D17 with a CF valve cover at the top

That's the naturally aspirated KMS 7thgen Civic.
Find out more here.....

They expect 250hp to the wheels from it.

This motor has been totally balanced, and blueprinted.. everything lightened.
Port and polish, pistons, oversized valves, block guard, 500 lift cam, individual throttle bodies, coil pack, clutch/aluminum flywheel, oil pump, haltech, rods, basically everything that can be done to the D17 without using forced induction has been done to this motor. It does also have a 100 shot of nitrous. This package runs anywhere from 5,000-8,000 dollars.

why does it say on their website for 2000 - 2001 civic aren't they different, is it just a typo or is it not the one for our 7thgen civics?

there is another pic w/o the cai in the gallery. I'll take it off the jack stands, reset the ecu and start it later tonight.

Well I thought of your ongoing wieght reduction obsession when I was doing the install and wieghed the stock one along with all the brackets and hardware that are not going to be used, against the KMS one... and I lost the paper that I wrote the results on
But the difference was about 1.5 lbs KMS being heavier. I drove home last night and was hoping to be able to "feel" the difference....... but I didn't
I thought that maybe my throttle cable needed to be adjusted to get wide open when the pedal was pushed all the way.... I gave it the brick on the accel pedal test and checked the throttle body....no adjustment needed
The car runs/idles fine and strong, but it just doesn't pull like I remember it.
I'll do G-tech runs with it this weekend and compare it to the runs I did before the install and see what I do or do not get.

OKay, 1.5 lbs isn't bad. Still though, lighter is better IMO. Maybe it doesn't pull as much since it's such a short runner length? The shorter the runner length the more power it will produce in the higher rpm's. You should see an improvement in the higher rpm's, but a decrease in the lower rpm's. If you usually drive within the lower rpm's, then you'll think it's slower. You need to dyno it to make sure though. That G-Tech meter is good I guess, but you need to set everything up the same way each time to get a good result. Good luck!
I hope you gained some ponies... Then again, it's the E/T that matters most IMO. What good are ponies without the lower E/T?

who cares about ET? lol.
and weight?
bah I say to both. heh... jk. sorta.
if this thing flows more and allows more hp/torque in the higher end.. its not for me then...
hopefully you get some results though.. at least a good shift of the poewrband upwards so when you do run that quarter mile or punch it.. you're doing it faster.
I care about the low end quite a bit. I hate having to rev to 4k just to get the car moving.
next car I get is a torque machine. so I dont have to be like grey and be so obessive about weight.

I hope you gained something out of this. Let us know how the G-Tech runs do.

I know, i thought you'd get a pretty good gain that you could feel. Maybe the computer has to adjust the extra airflow out. Hopefully your g-tech will show some improved numbers
I ordered mine today. I also had a question, is IM ready for nitrous, or do I need to drill/bore anything ? I'm not that informed on this IM that much. And also, do I need to tune the airflow once I put the IM on or ? I am planning to get my Cam Gear dyno-tuned as soon as I get it, I thought maybe I need to do something with IM also ?

I think the gains someone said are like 7whp, but Im still not decided on it,but if it is something that I can do myself then ill get it, since there arent any shops here. But with I/H/E and IM then we should actually feels gains right?
