Injen Vs. K & N
I have a 2001 Civic LX Automatic and I'm debating between the Injen Race Division Cold Air Intake and the K & N FIPK. I'm curious as to which one is actually better as far as sound, apperance, and performance.
I know that its a automatic civic LX so i'm not expecting huge gains, but I am expecting good sound and looks for car shows.
So if you have either of these intakes or have had them please respond and let me know what you thought of them.
Also don't just post to search, because I have researched both intakes and I want reponses on whether or not the people that have used them liked them or not.

I had an Injen SRI and now have the K&N FIPK II. I like the K&N better because it doesn't heat up as much as the Injen. But I liked the sound of the Injen better. I think K&N is the best between the two.
Hope it helps.

I don't know the gain from each. The only reason why I think K&N is best between those two is because it doesn't heat up as much as the Injen.

Now that is the SRI, but I'm looking at the CAI. What is the comparison of sound between that and the FIPK?
I'm really leaning toward the FIPK. Mainly because with it I won't have to worry about water with it being SRI. How does it sound?

The K&N is the only one that's made like a "real" car part, and it fits perfectly and works good. I had one on automatice EX.
I also tried OBX, AEM SRI, but the K&N was best all around.
The FIPK is SRI. The heat shield does a good job too.
The sound is quieter and more muffled than the AEM, but it's a nice sound, mainly at higher RPM.

I also have an auto LX and the FIPK. It does sound great, even more so around 4000 RPM's. As for performance, the only major difference I have been able to see is if I am at a complete stop and put my foot into it I can squeel tires. Thats about it, and no I dont go around spinning tires, but it is something I knew the car wouldnt or couldnt do before.

Definately get the K &N FIPK II
I had an AEM CAI and the piping would get hot from radiant engine heat.
SInce the K & N FIPK II is made from thick plastic, it allows the air to not
be as hot. I got better low end torque with the K & N and was able to bark the stock tires in 3rd gear. two thubs up!

Well is there anyone here that has had all 3? lol... i know its an ongoing debate. I am getting either the SRI or the CAI mainly for aesthetic reasons... i just want looks and sound cuz i know i will never get my vic to be fast... (so prolly the SRI)
I just had my Injen RD CAI installed today, and I cant describe you enough, the smile that it puts on my face. The thing gets really fuccin loud from 3,500rpms and up, I mean it is just too sweet. The filter is very well protected, bcs when you take your bumper off to place your filter, you have those plastic guards that prevent tires spraying water on your intake. It's also very well protected from underneath, because you have plastic shield there too. I think in instruction manual it says that you need to cut about 3-4 inches of guard to fit the pipe thru, but that is NOT necessary. Push the guard back a lil', and tube will come thru nicley. Then you stick that rubber piece that they gave you on the tube, so that way you dont have clanking noise coming in, from tube scratching with your car frame. All in all, I think I know I got my moneys worth with Injen CAI. Wouldnt choose nothing else. And I havent noticed any low end loss whatosever. It's not a bad idea to tighten your throtle cable, its hellava lot better response off the line. Well thats about it
