sleeper mods
sleeper mods
hey guys,
wanted to get advice on what performance mods to do on a '03 civic coupe when trying to keep it stock lookin from the outside as much as possible. i dont wan't to attract too much attention since it seems like its everyday that when i go out with my buddy in his s2k that someone wants to race him. i just want a sleeper. not to race anyone else but to just boost up whatever i can. a friend suggested a new exhaust and the AEM v2 CAI. although i wanted to keep it quiet too, i might just get the intake when it comes out as it does not change the appearance of the car. any help would be appreciated.

Yah, that's what I plan to do... a swap. Don't know when though (FlyRiceRacer02 help me decide on that... hehe.) That's the best way to make any car a sleeper IMO. And because you want to keep the car runnin quiet (no exhaust), do a swap.
A turbo/swap is all you can do to keep your car a sleeper & still add boost while staying quiet. I think the exhaust would give you the best boost for a bolt on but it will add the noise that you do not want. The intake will not even add noticeable gains by itself, take my word on that.
if you want a true sleeper, you stay 100% stock on teh outside. if you still want rims, you get teh stock HX rims and pull yrou emblems.
clearcornering is optional, but certainly no more. the idea is to let people think yoru car is totally stock!
then you do what i did,, and throw in a HUGE stereo system in!.....wait no...... =D

just go for the Gen 2 FIPK K&N ... the air is pretty cool coming in through behind the heatshield and the piping is plastic which is an added bonus... don't lose too much low-end while gaining 4hp on the mid-high

new fuel sytem(pump,injectors,pressure regulator,fuel rail)=$1000
nitrous=$700
JET chip reprogram=$300
$2150 should get you about 25hp without the NOS

Unorthodox pulley kit and

If you wanna get serious replace the internals of the engine and get boost.=PRICY

If you want a sleeper i'd suggest going with the AEM CAI, it definatly produces noticable gains. It was the first mod I made to my car and it significantly improved the car over stock, without creating much additional noice, like the exhaust or header did
