Pulley Power?

Hey guys do the Pulleys from Unorthodox or AEM create much power in our cars. One of the 2 companies claimed 5-12 horsepower so I was just wonderin if there was a major gain or anything on our cars? Any info is helpful thanks.

I'm running the UR Ultra SS three pulley set and there is nowhere near 5-12 HP. 1 to 2 at the most. There is a noticable gain from easier revs and less engine braking. Worth the money? Probably not. IMO

In my experience the pulley sets are worth almost nothing by themselves. They do allow other hp to be freed up with other mods and they do allow your engine to take less stress and MAY increase the overall longevity of your engine.

IMO if you are going to do other mods go ahead and ad a set of pulleys.

Hey Kopseal, if you are all about speed and are almost definitely sure you will put a turbocharger in the future, then the pullies are a good buy and Unorthodox will be the brand you want because they have the crank pulley besides the other 2.

I got the AEM pulleys. I don't know if I noticed much of a power increase, but I did notice an increase in throttle response. Also keep in mind, if you have an audio system that pumps out high wattage, then your battery may not stay charged the way it should.

I was going to get the unorthodox set until familyman said that he didn't really notice any performance increase. Well, a very minimal one. However, every little bit helps....

I have the AEM pulley kit and I havent noticed too much of a difference, however I can actually feel the VTEC working a little at high RPMs now, mostly in 1st.
