Rep Power: 0 Y8 intake manifold swap on d17a2
Hello!, I have read all the info I could find on this forum 100 times over before recently becoming a member. I hope I dont get flamed for this, but I'm looking for any help on leads to some info on running the Y8IM, and keeping the d17 fuel rail and injectors. It's not a perfect fit, hell it's not a good fit at all. I have the d17 FR and injectors, but I want to avoid having to run a resistor box if I can get some info on how people have been running their set ups with 2 o rings on the injector and it sealed. My main concern is being a fire hazzard. If wiring a resistor box isnt too much work. The y8 FR and injectors is obviously the route to go. Thanks in advance! Any detailed info on whatever wiring would need done to run the y8 fuel rail and injectors, and info on the d17 FR and injectors, size and way to set the o rings to make a decent deal. Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

You could try cutting/expanding the d17 rail, and having it welded back together.
Or spend some money on having a shop fab you a new rail that will house the d17 injectors for the y8 mani.

Re: Y8 intake manifold swap on d17a2
I know that this is an older thread, but if anyone else is wondering about fuel injectors for their Y8 manifold swap, I have a Y8 manifold on my D17A and I am using OEM Y8 injectors with no problems. I get 35 MPG average, it runs perfect, and it has good power. I notice no differences in the way the engine runs when I switched the D17 injectors for the Y8 fuel rail and injectors, but the Y8 injectors and rail fit much better for obvious reasons. I would not suggest using the D17 rail with a Y8 manifold unless you can secure it very tightly because I was having problems with fuel and vacuum leaks when I used the D17 rail and injectors. I hope this info helps someone
