Flywheel question

Hey, nw member here.

I am replacing the clutch on my 2002 honda civic si(canada), was curious if it was absolutely necessary that I replace the flywheel this time around or would it be fine if I just machined it again.

Re: Flywheel question

do you mean it was machined once? if so, better check tolerances to see if it is possible. are you having some vibrations, chudder?

Re: Flywheel question

I don't touch the flywheel unless it is damaged. If there is damage, then I replace.

Ever since I started wrenching, I have had better luck leaving it alone than machining.

-------

Checked specs: All I see is a runout spec.
Machining this flywheel is not recommended.

C&P from the Honda site:
If the runout is more than the service limit, replace the flywheel, and recheck the runout. Resurfacing the flywheel is not recommended.
