Transmission issue
Transmission issue
Hey CivicForums,
I have a question for you. I bought a 2001 Honda Civic LX Manual transmission about 3 months ago. Since then, I've noticed that the shifter sits abnormally far forward. For instance, when I have it in 4th gear, it looks like it should be neutral. This causes the shifter to hit the plastic piece underneath the leather shifter boot when going into 1st, 3rd, and 5th gear. I've been grinding more than I should and can't seem to figure it out. Any thoughts on this? I'm just getting into working on cars, so I'm not too knowledgable. I appreciate any suggestions!
