Deleted Air Intake Silencer...anyone else done this?

I thought maybe it would make the air flow a little better. That box did a kind S shape to the intake manifold whereas now its straight through

you may suck in a bit more air, but it will be warmer, which will cancel out any gain you got.

Absolutely. There's a bit more engine noise but my exhaust is noticeably better sound wise. Much deeper and throaty. Magnaflow component cat-back exhaust is what I'm running. 2" but wish I went with 2 1/4 or 2 1/2
