k20 intake manifold possible fit on d17?
k20 intake manifold possible fit on d17?
im new to this forum and havent seem to find anything on this topi but the k series manifold seemed to be set up to help the engine have good torque and high end flow. think it would be able to be converted to a d17 and make good gains? all help is appreciated
Re: k20 intake manifold possible fit on d17?
nope. the two are nothing alike, not to mention mounted on opposite ends of the engine bay. d17 intake manifold is near the firewall and has the centered throttlebody directly above it with a different bolt pattern and size runners and ports, the k manifold is near the front bumper and has the throttle body located on the side and as stated above has a different bolt pattern. And if your not going turbo dont waste your time and money on the 1000 dollar custom intake manifold that is available for the d17 cause you wont see any worthwhile gains.
Re: k20 intake manifold possible fit on d17?
yeah i know the way they are setup. but you could always just cut the flange and weld it the the d17. it seems like it would work with alittle fab work and if the manifold would clear the firewall. the throttle body would be kind of down towards the tranny tho. and anything is better than the plastic box the d17 has..
