Intake heat/exhaust rasp

Ok... Im going to squeeze two topics in one thread.

1. I have an ebay intake. Was a cai, but I took the second half off due to the poor filter placement(filter sat in front of radiator fan wtf). I added a 2.5" to 3" adapter, a short section of 3" pipe, and an aem filter(the good one that says k&n on it)
Im still having issues with the intake getting waay too hot. I plan on getting a k&n fipk sri, but until I have $350 is there a good way to keep it cooler? The cheap aluminum really sucks

2. I also have a d17a1 to d17a2 swap. I just had a custom exhaust made up for it. Its a stock ex manifold that I polished and smoothed out, a 2.25" ss downpipe, a 2.25" ss braided flex pipe, a 2" vibrant hf cat, and a magnaflow 2.25" x 14" resonator(all in the downpipe area, then 2.25" piping back to a gt racing 2.25" in/3"out muffler.
It flows like an s.o.b., but its more ricey n raspey than im comfortable with. Can I add a second resonator, or is there any way I can keep it loud but make it a deeper tone?

High heat header paint or bbq paint, whichever is less expensive at your local store. Give it a couple coats, it's a quick inexpensive solution that really works. You can significantly cut down on the heat in your engine bay by painting the stock exhaust manifold with the same paint, but since you went to all the work of polishing it you might not want to do that.

Jamis33 has/had an FIPK for sale in the marketplace recently, maybe hit him up and see if you can get a good deal on it used.

Customs exhausts are tough this way, you don't really know how they'll sound till they're complete. Try adding a silencer, that should help.

I got a heat shield from the dealer. Idk. Sometimes ill run it hard and its cool to the toych and sometimes its scalding hot. And my muffler came with a silencer, but it made the rasp worse... It sounded like a weed wacker lol. Think ill just have to invest in a k&n before it gets warm out again. And maybe I can find/or fabricate a better silencer. I almost want the option of removing it to be loud or quiet(for when I visit my friends in brieningsville...the cops love me...not)

You could definitely add another resonator, that should make it a bit deeper.
