New York emissions?
New York emissions?
after i get my rear lip in a few weeks im planning to get a cat-back...i been looking into Evo2 exhaust and blah blah blah but im confused on state emissions...how do you know if it'll pass inspection or not? i been trying to search and havent found my answer...i dont wanna buy the system and not be able to pass the yearly inspection. anybody know??
Re: New York emissions?
its a catback meaning its just a muffler it will not effect emissions at all. sound pollution on the other hand is questionable but being just a evo style you should be fine they are fairly quiet.

not unless there is something wrong with the cat you have.

or get the apexi ws2 they sound really good and cost less

on a side note your EX cat is under the car DX and LX models have the cat built into the header i think thats were you got confused . also you could get the ws2 universal muffler for alot cheaper and have a shop either weld it on or clamp it on for half the price of the cat back kit thats what i would do.

Re: New York emissions?
yeah i thought it was the same for every trim
but thanks for the sites!!!
wouldnt just the muffler be kinda ricey? i mean it is a lot cheaper though, i'll deffinatly be taking that option to consideration...im guessing the 60mm inlet piping is what would fit the stock piping

Keep in mind that's in a semi-enclosed area. ****'s gonna echo and sound hella louder that it really is. I think my A'PEXi WS-II would sound like that in a parking garage.
Re: New York emissions?
to loud for my taste plus after a year or two thats going to get really annoying especially in the cabin trust me i use to have a n1 style tsudo that drove me crazy.

Re: New York emissions?
Wouldn't sound exactly the same.. It'd prolly be quieter.. stock is something like 1-7/8" piping0, and a'pexi's is 2¼" or 2½".. My gut's telling me 2¼" though.

Re: New York emissions?
Why not just wait a bit longer and order the full cat-back?
Patience really is key to saving money while modding on a budget.

Yep. I've just had a lot of stuff going on since I got the car last year. I signed up for school, bought some tools, which we all know are f'ing expensive. I've really only spent money on necessary things for my car so far. Tires, brakes, oil changes and some other stuff. The only thing I spoiled myself with was an intake. But I get what you're saying. My car sounds okay with the intake on it. A little more aggressive, and a good exhaust would definitely make it sound nicer. I just have to control myself since I get super antsy once stuff starts coming out the way I want it. In due time. In due time.
