If any of you saw my response in the rate your exhaust thread, yall would know I am extremely unhappy with my current exhaust set up. Buzzy loud obnoxious droning every negative thing you can think of. I am looking for a factory exhaust set up to quiet it down and still flow pretty well. I was eyeballing Type R exhausts for a factory look with a mean tone. Does anybody out there have any such set up or a Type R themselves? I need to know piping sizes specifically. If you got pics/vid clips that would be amaaaaaaaaazing.

Re: Factory Exhausts
hmmm... i'm really hoping you're from another country, where the Type R is actually available...
or drive an integra for the one year they were available as a Type R here in the states....

Re: Factory Exhausts
they sell type r exhausts on jdmshit other forums craigslist and ebay. Im looking at a DC5 ITR exhaust now but i dont know the piping size etc and what its going to sound like. I was thinking of just getting a magnaflow universal and putting a 2.5 tip on it but id rather get a factory look

Re: Factory Exhausts
it doesnt flow better, its just designed to work at lo and hi rpm. i doubt a civic would even be able to push the flap open tho. its more for hi performance motors lol

Re: Factory Exhausts
the part number on the DC5 is 1052 the part number on the rsx type s is 1051 and the part number on the rsx is 1050. I'm only looking at part numbers and cross refrencing them to make sure its the real deal. seen too many rip offs.

Re: Factory Exhausts
my gf has one on her prelude and i totally agree its so smooth and quiet its sick. She agree to trade me cuz she thinks its too quiet. The only complaint i have about her world sport is that the tip is huge. The nail that sticks out the furthest gets hammered and all that. I'm trying to avoid attention by avoiding tips larger than 3".
man i tell you what that b20 is a beast. I'm going vtec with my tax returns. It's amazing man torque in every gear at every speed, i have it matched to an Si tranny with a 3.879 (i think thats what it is) ITR final drive. I have block gaurds rod bolts head bolts etc. lined up to do the swap and im going to send the head out to be opened up to CTR spec. Its gonna be mean, i have it in an EJ8 was planning on doing an entire EM1 conversion.

i had to use pvc piping for the intake because i didn't want to put a 2" intake tube on a 70.2mm tb
pics were taken last year the itr manifold has since been put on i got video clips of it below you can hear the intake hissing like mad

would hope that b20 would push that flap open. sounds like a beastly mild n/a set up.

Re: Factory Exhausts
Why dont you just go get some 2.5" piping fabbed up at an exhaust shop then hook it up to a DC5 muffler or something if you are talking full exhaust. Car-X can make you a pipe from header to axel for like $200
Re: Factory Exhausts
IMO if you were looking for a nice stock looking exhaust with no drone, nice finish then id suggest the infamous a'pexi wsII. if you want to stay factory why not pull off a stock muffler from an 03-05 si

Re: Factory Exhausts
Not that you don't, but why didn't you show an actual picture of both in one shot?

Re: Factory Exhausts
i asked around about it and the guy at hybrid where i got the fuel rail told me dont worry about the bottom end until it goes. The rod bolts and bearings are the same as the itr ctr b18b b16a etc and spoon uses factory bearings in their 11k cars so i'd think it would be ok as far as NA cars go. (I blew the **** out of a 5 grand build b20vtec with 15psi and squeeze) Theres a guy on HHU whos got a b20/b16b block and he went with arp rod bolts and head bolts and put 50k miles on it revving to 9 grand. I'm putting a block guard on it when i vtec it just in case.
its a good effing motor is you ask me, it's putting down almost as much torque as a j30a (98-2000) and i beleive as much as an s2000 (2.0 engine) and its non vtec... they are popular swaps into your 7th gens too for those that can't stretch a k20 or k24/vtec swap
