Couple exhaust questions...
Ok, so I'm going to combine a couple of my questions into this thread to hopefully elminate the need to multi-thead.
1) Anyone have any recommendations on a decent axel back? I had a full tanabe racing medalion cat back exhaust and it was too loud for me, so I went back stock and I like the quietness but miss a little sound. The only time I get full enjoyment is when I'm on the gas and I get to hear the intake.
2) Do you think possibly headers and the downpipe, keeping the exhaust stock will get a little deeper/louder sound?
3) The tanabe racing medallion exhaust... anyone have any idea on price? I'm going to post it forsale soon, just trying to get an estimate. The actually muffler is scratched some but no leaks. Not really caring about price... just maybe I can get enough to cover either the axel back, or the headers & downpipe.
And I drive an 04 2dr ex.

the "rate your exhaust" thread
sry, only help i can offer.
also, deeper notes would all depend on the muffler in the end i guess

Re: Couple exhaust questions...
but not TOO loud correct? hmm... so exhaust on the back only makes it seem louder from the rear right? just like the intake is louder from the front? im just trying to find a happy middle on sound...
Re: Couple exhaust questions...
^ Agreed!
I have the HKS Hi-Power Axle-back and it isn't loud. It has a good tone to it when you really get on it, but when sitting idle, its very quiet. I recommend it. Only thing, is its an angled exhaust, some do not like the angled exhaust look, but to each their own.

Re: Couple exhaust questions...
and WOW... so pricy just for an axel back... maybe i'll just take my exhaust on and off.. lol i'd rather save and get some coilovers... if the axel back is that much new, what do you think i could get for my tanabe catback? i was thinking like around 100 + shipping..

Re: Couple exhaust questions...
get a magnaflow..... paint the muffler black except for the stainless steal tip....
i have a tsunami rear lip with a mag flow... here are some pixs...
plus its one of the best sounding exhausts thats not too loud for our 7thgens...

if you want more pixs, just tell me.

Re: Couple exhaust questions...
im assuming ur're talking to me because im the only one with pixs.
they are rota slipstreams 16"
currently, im running 215/50/16. they are the exact oem spec. so my speedo is the same as the oem rim 195/60/15...
however, i liked it better when i had 205/45/16 tires on it....the rim was alot lighter and a lil more lowpro.
heres a pix of it on 205/45/16

here is another pix of the previous owner of my rims with 205/45/16

as you can see, they look alot fatter with 215/50/16(currently driving on)
they also rub if u dont roll ur fenders.
