i installed it myself. it wasnt hard at all. if you have a torque wrench and know how to unbolt and torque them back to spec you will be fine. just make sure you get a new exhaust gasket as well. the stainless one costs about the same there but that still a good price for the ceramic coated.

the gaskets come with the header right? how do i know what the spec torque is for the bolts? sorry i'm a noob at this stuff.

please, do urself a favor, just switch to ex exhaust, otherwise ull have a check engine light, i have this exact header, only 2 mos. old and ive had a cel since i put it in, good perfomance gains tho, kamikaze's website is where i got mine from, it was 300 shipped to my door, but chrome is more

isn't the kamikaze made specifically for lx engines? why would there be a check engine light? and arent the other headers from other manufacturers exclusively for EX models only?

sorry for all these questions... my car is completely stock (2001 LX) but i noticed a huge crack in my stock header so I want to change it. If i changed to EX header where would the o2 sensor and stuff go? arent they completely different?

You'll get a CEL with it because it replaces the stock cat. To get rid of the CEL you'll need a o2 simulator (electric of mechanical).

You can convert to an EX exhaust. I converted myself and I've posted many many many times about it. If you want to know more about the conversion, search I'm sick of posting about it.

It doesn't just replace it it eliminates your stock cat all together. Honda Tech shows you how to make an o2 simulator. I plan on using the same header with my exhaust setup. I'm going to have a high flow cat welded in at a shop since im having custom piping and an electric cut-out done. (Trying to stay somewhat legal but not really)

u cannot get the kamikaze header for the LX, and and save the cat. it eliminates it.. swap to EX to keep your cat..

yeah... i just spent the last hour reading on EX vs LX exhaust system... seems too complicated and expensive for me. I just want a used LX header. Those that swapped to EX exhaust... want to sell me your LX header? I'm not a fan of ricey fart sounds from cars so this would be best for me... and my wallet...and planet Earth. heh.

seeing that im native american ill ignore that last part about the Earth. Just go to the forsale section of this site and look around for what u need: it seems like someone is always selling a lx header. Then go to honda tech and learn how to make an o2 sim out of a spark plug defouler and you're set.

it only costs like 6 bucks to make the plug defouler o2 sim and another 15-20 mins to install. i dont know why you would live with the check engine light. just go to a local auto parts store buy the two pack of spark plug defoulers and put one between the header's second o2 bung and the o2 sensor.no more cell. supposed to put two between but there isnt room with the kamikaze header. truth be told i put one and a half but still. yes if you want to go through all the trouble of an ex exhaust swap and get a high flow cat then you can. but if you dont have emissions testing or want to save yourself some cash then just go with the lx header.
