B and M short throw shifter?
B and M short throw shifter?
I searched and found nothing about this. I was woundering if the B and M short throw shifter is better then the revo ss? Any comments about both is good. Anyone install it?
Thanks
Thanks
i've done a search and most members have gone with the revo ss due to costs. the b&m is suppose to be heavy duty in constructions, hence it costs about 90 plus dollars more.
my only concern has been the numerous accounts posted on these forums of revo ss shifters breaking while on the road/highway. not a good place to be. i haven't upgraded my shifter to a short throw yet, but i'll probably save up for the b&m myself.

I believe you have to take apart your stock unit to use the B&M, something I wouldn't be too comfy with if I had to revert back to stock. I owned a 1st-gen Revo (non-adjustable) and it worked very well, right up until I sold it and bought a Buddy Club short shifter assembly (adjustable), which felt a touch tighter than the Revo, less side-to-side play when in gear or neutral.

I think there is also an issue of rubbing w/ the B&M that would require some filing/modifying to ensure it doesn't cause damage... there were tons of threads regarding B&M vs. Revo.

I heard that the Revos were fracturing because people are slamming the lever into gear positions or just not shifting properly. That's all I heard after researching short shifters for a week or so.
I decided to get the Revo with the RSX Base shift ****. I also purchased aluminium shift bushings from Kumosport. Hopefully everything arrives at the end of the week.

ya i know how that trust me good luck man hope everythign goes good for you
I got my Revo SS (version 2) from truehonda, and love everything about it. I also have Grey's kit and the aluminum bushings. The only thing that I had a problem with was the screw that is used to connect the shifter cable to the adjustment arm was too short and came off when I pulled out of my road. I went to Lowes and they had a 1/2" screw that fits, and now it's better than before. I would recomend the Revo SS to anyone wanting a SS.

Page 2 is where Aznboysurfr (sp?) first mentions it, and I believe later in the post or in similar posts someone posts a way to remedy it.
I have the Revo and like it a lot, but if my revo ever breaks, I'll probably look into the Buddy CLub or B&M.

I've got a Revo SS version 2 with the aluminum bushings and grey's kit. I love it. The only complaint I have is that it squeaked a bunch when I first installed it. Turns out I didn't properly lubricate the joints, lol.
