A few questions about '05 Value intake
Hey all, firstly, I'm new here so HI!!
I just bought an '05 Civic VP about 2 weeks ago and I'm trying to get a bit more power out of it whilst not spending exorbitent amounts of money.
I've been thinking of a short-ram intake, headers, and custom exhaust. What kind of power increase would I be looking at from upgrades such as these, or all of them combined?
Another thing I've been toying with is the possible addition of an electric turbo... Just from looking under the hood it looks as if the air box sits on top of the throttle body and that the throttle bodies intake hole points straight up? Is this true or am I just not seeing enough by not have taken off the airbox? I'm trying to gather ideas of what I'd do if I were to pick up an electric turbo unit. I noticed that the filter box looks to connect to the air box with a small coupling hose, does that sound right? Would it be possible to retain the stock filter box and then attach the electric turbo right to the filter boxes inlet where the air box currently is?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions / help. I tried a google images search for pix of short ram intakes setup on newer civics and didnt come up with much, does anyone have a pic handy they could throw up for me? THANKS!

keep in mind that the ONLY way to make our cars fast is by going turbo or engine swap. with just intake header and catback exhaust you are only going to see about 5-7 hp gain. why pay almost a grand for only that much power?? i wouldnt really spend any money on just little bolt ons like these. i'd probably just slap on a short ram intake. its just for sound basically. it only gives about 1 or 2 hp gain.
i have the AEM short ram intake, megan racing header, megan racing test pipe and custom catback exhaust system. the gains sucked.
you can always slap on a nitrous. but i'd so some research before buying a nitrous kit.

no....
dear god dont waste your money on an electric turbo if you gona go cheap get an exhaust shop to make you a catback exhaust and get an ebay header/test pipe but dont expect to beat much mabie a couple of weak neons/tercels rofl the only way to make your car noticibly faster is turbo/nitrous and when i say turbo i mean the real kind not a hairdryer motor atached to your intake it would not create boost even at idel.

ok, your engine is the same as LX and DX models. Aftermarket header will not allow you to pass emissions tests. Do not expect much gain from those modifications you listed..... the Honda D series was not meant to react well to modifications. Read my sigs.........
