Aftermarket header Q for 04lx manual

alright so is it possible to get install the kamakazi header on an 04lx and still be able to but another cat on some where past it? welding involved? I have been looking but I havent found a DIY to convert it back to smog legal after putting an aftermarket header on... I have seen that I have to make an ex conversion...? maybe?

Edit--Dont worry I used the search button extensively but any post that i wanted to post on about this topic has expired so I was forced to make a new one, sorry for any type of repost if it is jsut because I couldn't find it

you can always buy an catco cat or a random tech cat and weld it in where ever you want. i know there is an adaptor pipe made to link th e2 systems together but if you live in calie a full conversion is the only way youll get it through smog

regardless of what state your car is registered in you still have to abide by cali laws. tint and cat will both be a fun bout trying to say you live in co. an regardless they will probably tell you to remove the tint if you get pulled for that. as far as cat goes if a cop wants to mess with you he will. so cal cops arent nice at all. they love to find reasons to bust anyone with an exhaust and a lowered car.

No it doesnt, it replaces the cat.

Our LX's have the cat built onto the exhaust manifold, therefore replacing teh exhaust manifold with a header, takes away the cat.

To answer your question, bolt up the Kami header, then take it to a muffler shop, or u can do it urself. Use some u-bolts to clamp on a cat.

ahhhh you're right, I forgot you need the O2 sim for this

BlackKnight: looks like the easiest thing to do for smog legal would be EX conversion

yes even if you have a residence in co. if you are here for more than a specific amount of time they make you register and insure the car in ca. i think its like 30 days if im not mistaken. if they pull you over and ask then the same cop pulls you over youll get the ticket for everything that isnt cali legal and they will make you register here. its a pain. and if you dont like doing things twice just do it right the first time. go with an ex conversion.
