Problem with exhaust
I have a magnaflow catback exhaust. It sounded really nice for the first 25k miles. now in the higher range rpms it sounds ricer. I'm thinking its the resinator. Anyone have any ideas? As far as a fix goes theres not a big choice on what to do, only thing i can think of is a aftermarket resinator to weld in there.

Do you have headers? I have the megan cat back and sort of had that issue at first when I had the OEM header. Later on after I put on the megan 4-1 header and the tone wasn't as raspy. The exhaust just seemed to flow better. It was almost like the car was choking with the OEM header lol. Anyways, I hope you figure it out.

i see. not to compare apples to oranges here but i don't have a resinator and mine is really deep! maybe, if you unscewed it from the flanges on either end of the resinator you could hose it down or hose it out, whatever. but it probably just has build up in it that needs to come out

Well, the pipes have seeded together not much i can do at home. Gonna need a torch. Probably gonna get rid of the resonator all together. I'm under the impression it will give me a deeper but slightly louder tone. Before i do this anyone know for sure?

well, if you can get your car up on 4 jackstands and use a breaker bar to get it off or take it to a muffler shop and have them break them for you. then they will be easier to get off when you get home.
another option is: take it to a muffler shop, have them weld a pipe (same diameter as your magnaflow) to 2 flanges so that you can bolt-on the straight pipe or if you don't like it, you can just put your cleaned out magnaflow res. back on. if any of this is unclear, hit me up on AIM

my friend had that problem and he went to autozone and they gave him so kind of octane booster type thing. i doubt it was an octane booster but it was some kind of liquid where you poor it into your gas tank and the raspy sound went away. damn...forgot what the hell that thing was. ill figure it out.
I don't think it would have anything to do with the resonator. All resonators do is slow down air flow a little more to make it not as last. It being raspy is probably the muffler losing its insulation.
