Unless you can tell the difference in material grades by visual observation...I'd like to know as well....please keep in mind that not everyone can afford higher and probably over priced intakes.....other than "ICEMAN" most are similar in material and coatings......the technology behind intakes is not so overwhelming that only a few manufactures can make!!!!!...that largest and overall differences is:
1. Path to the throttle body
2. Number of bends
3. Location for best cold air
4. Heat diffusion within the intake
Now given there are about 2 paths our cars will allow for an CAI, that leaves a fine line differece between all intakes..hence the DYNO HP results is very small between them....so my point is ...if this person is considering an OBX intake because they are somewhat cheaper and may actually offer a more HP per dollar value then I say go for it bro!....so again I ask why cheap and why did you "THROW IT AWAY"..now thats waisting money..why not sell it...I'm not flaming you just would like to comment that everyone is in a different financial position...so please comment more specifically why you didn't like it!!!!!..Peace!

well i got me a second hand injen sri for 105 from someone on this forum... good deal i say... new filter and the pipe is in mint condition. the guy/gal was selling the car. still, i'd like to know why the obx sux... if it does suck
From the looks of things, OBX's CAI is more or less a true CAI, similar to Injen's. Of course, I bet it isn't anywhere near as well insulated from heat. They also come with a K&N filter, which is pretty decent. If you coat the inside and outside of the intake pipe with ceramic engine paint, or wrap the pipe with header wrap, I bet they would be just as good as any of the more expensive CAI's. I also know that ceramic engine paint costs $3 at wal-mart, and the OBX intake costs $35 off eBay. I'm gonna try this out, and I'll post the results in a week or so.
If your going to buy OBX, do NOT buy from an ebay seller with ebay id 'ssautochrome.' His picture looks nothing like the intake I received from him. It's not polished, the filter is not even half the size of K&N and it doesnt even sound like I have an intake. Bad quality. Fast shipping is all he's good for.
