muffler

i was wondering if anybody has a custom exhaust system with an aftermarket muffler on it. What do you have and how do you like it? Right now I'm wanting to have my shop do a custom exhaust from my new headers and high-flow cat back to the muffler and just get a muffler. I'm kinda looking at a Magnaflow, but if you guys have some better suggestions for mufflers, let me know. I dont want a ricey sounding exhaust, just something deep toned and loud when I get on the gas.

thanks

i got the skunk2 mega power muffler on my car. just got it not too long ago. i think it was in mid december. but anyways, yea i got that and with custom exhaust piping. im running a megan racing test pipe with megan header so i only got the custom exhaust piping done to the test pipe.

and yea i like it. not much of a power gain. but its ok.

i thought about doin the whole catback system, but i'd rather not spend $500 on one when i can get a shop to do it custom pipe for me for about $100... I think i'm gonna go with the Magnaflow muffler that I saw at Bumper to Bumper here in my little town... $109 for it, then as soon as my headers and cat show up from truehonda, i'm gonna take it to the shop i found that actually has a mandrel bender and get some 2.25" piping installed... should sound pretty nice when i get done with it...

dont let the shop install your header and cat. those are really easy to install.

oh and BTW...our cars only have one header. so therefore it is..." header " not " headers "

well if you do piping custom and the header and no cat it will be really loud on the inside. i have custom piping for catback and downpipe with the stock header and stock cat and it can get loud in the car.

yeah, i knew that, thanks for catching it, i didnt see the extra s when i typed it out... only problem with me installing the header and cat is i'd have to drive it 20 miles and halfway across a big city with nothing from the cat back. the shop said they wouldnt charge any extra for the installation of both... we've got some good exhaust shops around here...

and a BTW for you, good taste in football teams

i think i worded my sentence badly, i am getting a racing header with a cat attached. and i am getting custom pipes done from the cat to the muffler... probably 2.25", but i want a muffler

Yeah, I called them a while ago to get a quote on a system and some installation stuff, and they said from what it sounded like I wanted to have them do, it'd be about $100-$120 for the custom exhaust and installation of the header and cat.... pretty nice... and i know they're a good shop because my buddy from church took his newer chevy truck in for a complete custom exhaust and he said they did an awesome job with it.
