WTF - Difference in Megan and DC 4-1 header, need some luv
the megan has an o2 bung on the header and the dc doesn't. what gives?

if u get the Megan u'll need a L-shaped downpipe wit o2 bung and a full EX cat-back. If u get the DcS it bolts up to ur OEM exhaust which doesn't make anysense. Get the Megan RH & DP combo on ebay and get urself a EX catback. Thats wut i I did

i just got the header, but it doesnt have that bolt for the damn o2 bung. on a 2k1 ex there is no o2 sensor that goes into the header - why the **** is it there? stupid

Yea it's built into it.
so you have to get the down pipe as well to even use the header?
Yes the megan header is a shorty and the L Downpipe connects to the Megan RH (4-1) and then the downpipe to the actuall axle-back.

thanks. the story is that i had a dp made already cause i cracked the oem one before (dont ask, lol) and i retained the cat. i would ditch it all but i need the cat for the NY inspection and emissions.
so i need that bolt then to use the megan header. btw, the megan header AND dc are stated for use with the EX head, d17a2...

and the secondary o2 is right below the DP bolt area
So far I haven't gotten a CEL, and be sure to unplug negative and positive wire from the battery (careful if u have stock radio), and connect the battery when done, start ur baby up and let it run for 15 mins while checking for leaks, rattling or nething tht;ll will cause future problems

first of all, +1 rep for all your help here. Thanks for the info. On the stock dp, there is a o2 sensor right in the same spot as the megan one that you showed. but on the stock header, there isnt an o2 sensor that goes into the header itself. why does the megan header have one there? point is, i got the megan header and it has that bung for the o2 sensor, but it doesnt have the damn plug to fill the whole - i dont have an o2 sensor to go there, lol. so its pretty much useless until i somehow find a plug...

oh hell yes! let me know man. hey, how were the gains and sound level with the parts that u installed?
im running a complete Megan Exhaust setup. RH==>DP==>and Drift Spec II cat back. I got an auto and it doesn't lag anymore (well when the engine is warm). I love the sound man, and even when im on I95 ppl ask me wut I got
(stock), just a nice rumble and no buzzing.. I have a DIY slash product review for Megan (my sponsor is a Megan Dealer==> WheelExpressions). Lots of pics but waiting for my coilovers and new pads for 2 0r 3 DIYs... Megan has been great so far tho

have you done that diy throttle heater bypass? it helps so much with lag in the heat down here, and probably much more in an auto.

yeah its going on a 5spd. i dont expect much from the megan at all, its more just for looks. thanks all.
my friend has the Megan Racing 4-1 on robearracing in his 2005 EX Coupe, and it mounts right up to the OEM Downpipe. the Megan's tubes are bigger and the sound of the oem exhaust gets a german sound to it on acceleration. He had the DC Sport and he didnt like it, you get what you pay for
I have the megan header as well it bolted str8 to the OEM downpipe. You dont really need the megan downpipe but it doesnt make any difference either way. Sound is good. not too deep or ricey
