um doesn't that replace the engine breather hose to the intake? i wouldn't use that unless you have turbo or nitrous. its bad for the car and emissions.

Done right, take the the PCV hose off the valve, plug in the catch can hose, then connect the can outlet hose to the intake manifold where the PCV hose connects. Don't use the shitty fish tank hose that comes with most cans if you do this.
On the valve cover breather, which is semi-pointless, but it doesn't matter because its pointless no matter what if the engine isn't under positive pressure, connect the breather to the can, can to the intake.
If the can's not baffled, its useless regardless of where you put it.

can you circle where the pcv hose and valve are. Im really not familiar with the civic motor since I drive a GTS.. disconnet the pcv hose off the valve put it on the catch then, a hose off the can to the valve where the pcv was connected, correct? A pic would be great

left of the oil filter. There's a cover. its under there.
Its hard to get a picture, there's too much crap in the way.
Its honestly not worth your effort. No turbo, essentially no point. Just bolt the can in and run the hoses down under some stuff so it looks like its installed.

1 is the cover on the block, 4 is the valve. Can replaces 5. Use the right size hose.
