no its just an intake. i guess i can tell it here cause nobody will read. its the weapon-r secret weapon intake. and i'm gettin the aem filter for it. its the best filter out there from the tests i've seen way better than crap K&N. the intake tho is interesting because it has a dual chamber that uses physics laws to create a kind of vacuum to pull in more air. and the throttle body attachment is nice and big for my ported tb. the other intakes i've tried the piping is just too big so you lose velocity. and they are all smaller than my existing tb while this new one should fit great. i'll have a review for intake #4 as soon as the intake gets here and i order the aem filter. prolly in a couple weeks when i find a seller for the filter.

I had that intake a while back...I can honestly say that I felt more of a difference with the weapon r than with the AEM Cold Air and the K&N FIPK 2 I have now...The only problem was that it didn't fit correctly without modification to the pipe...Oh, the Foam filter that comes with that intake may seem like crap, but it did a good job of filtration...I ran it for over a year and when I took the intake off, the intake pipe and throttle body was real clean...When I took my AEM cold air, it was dirty as ****!!!! The Weapon R intake impressed me and it makes a cool sound in the upper RPM range..Hope you like it!

rsx-s cai uses the 3" version ... or at least the injen cai does.

if you want one, I have one for sale ... $40 shipped.

I used it for about 30 miles ... nothing wrong with it, just wanted to try it out.

just get whichever matches the filter you have now. select the diameter from the menu and i think the v2 uses the smaller 5 inch length. the other one is for truck intakes.

how is it not good? 1 micron filtration is pretty darn good. it also has a velocity stack design which K&N does not have. And the K&N is much worse at filtering dirt.

who me? i just bought it from a member here. once it comes in i'll order the filter. it kinda looks like the injen sri. i might need to mod it a bit to fit but otherwise the design is much better than regular pipe intakes for what I need.

thats what i've been hearing. i had aem sri (junk), kn fipk was okay but strange sound, the typhoon was better but still a bit rice sounding. the problem with those are the intake pipe is a fixed diameter. i have a ported tb now so that won't work. the weapon-r has a boot that goes from 3 inch to 2.5 inch the same as my port diameter. and the bends are smoother in the pipe. the best part of the intake is the dual chamber but unfortunately they didn't make it like that for the civic. i just get nervous using a foam filter which is why i want the aem.

^^ i just realized that he is from our site actually

You're not crazy. There's no magical solution to flow v. filtration. Higher flow = worse filtration.

If you look at AEM's data sheets on thier website, their pressure drop was 1.31+ with their Dryflow filter. That is almost DOUBLE the pressure drop of the K&N they tested and more than 33% higher than the Injen filter. Yet they don't want to draw your attention to that, so they don't comment on it.

Granted, it's filtering out a lot of of low micron particles, but at the expense of flow. But in all honesty, with regular oil change intervals, I think most cotton/gauze filters do just fine over the life of the car. Yes they let in more fine dust particles, but the 10-20 micron range that does most engine damage is filtered out quite effectively. I've yet to hear anybody have an engine fail because their K&N let in too much dirt.

oh okay we're thinking two different things. I would much rather have filter that works at the expense of power. can you even measure a difference on the dyno just by changing a filter? doesn't seem like it. but i'll read that thread anyway. lets not forget the aem also incorporates a velocity stack which K&N has yet to do. This is a major factor when actually using the filter on a pipe due to how it changes airflow dynamics. A weapon-r filter on the pipe actually flow tested alot HIGHER than an open pipe with no filter. The reason? Better filter design (otherwise there is no physical way for a filter to magically move more air in). Lets face it, K&N isn't that great of a filter and doesn't even meet OEM requirements for filtration which means technically it will void warranties (not to mention ruining maf sensors with the oil). Don't make me bring back the K&N sucks thread I made haha/

with regard to the thread, the Injen is even worse at filtering dirt than the K&N if thats possible. You might as well poke holes in it and get the same result. so yea i think he did feel a difference between a real filter and one that almost doesn't even work.
