Help with performance upgrades PLS
Hey whats up everyone I need some help with performance upgrades, I'm still sorta a noob. I'm now getting into more detail performance upgrades but the problem is I don't know where to start.
I use to do the minor things like Intake, Headers, Exhaust but thats about all I know to upgrade. Justs wondering what else I can upgrade to gain some power, I'm not trying to go for some crazy set up just wanted to get an idea what to upgrade to get some power/performance from my engine.
I currently have a 01 Civic Ex SOHC Vtec 1.7 ( here in USA )
So any input on what to upgrade what to improve in my engine to gain some power no matter how much power or how much money it would cost I just wanted to know what part that i needed to upgrade to gain some power/performance
Thx in advance for any input at all =D

cool thx for the input and the welcome =D
I see that turbo is an option but I also wanted to know if there is anything else in the engine I could do b4 Turbo or spray
About the Turbo is it better to build your own or to buy a actual kit thats made for the car, as far as i know its cheaper to actually put together your own turbo setup which obviously i have no clue to do, i'll try to search around the forum to see if there is anything about putting together a custom turbo setup

Not for a noob mechanich tough.....
The only way your gonna get good power is every single bolt on and nitrous, turbo, swap. Swap is the most expensive. Nitrous and turbo aren't that expensive unless you want to run high boost.

damn i'm noob too. i'm amazed how many of the users on this site have turbo installed as if it were nothing. i would do anything to gain the skills to DIY install turbo mine. help a fellow enthusiast out...where does a noob start?
additional questions:
1) how does the turbo affect the mileage?
2) does the turbo make the car loud? (i wanna make a sleeper and i live in so-cal so i'm paranoid of theft/vandalism lol)
3) can you still have bolt-ons (exhaust, header, intake) with a turbo installed?
btw, this is a great site. i spent all day yesterday reading all sorts of articles and been taking note of other people's experiences. great site to learn. but i need hands on experience. how easy are bolt-ons to install? LOL
oh yea, i know a lot of money is going to be involved so the turbo dream is still a long ways from now

Read the Turbo and Swap FAQ then browse the forums for hours upon hours.
additional questions:
1) how does the turbo affect the mileage? - It depends on many things (driving habits especially) if you stay out of boost range most of the time your meilage won't go down too much
2) does the turbo make the car loud? (i wanna make a sleeper and i live in so-cal so i'm paranoid of theft/vandalism lol) - The turbo itself will make the exhaust quieter but the BOV is what people will hear so get a quiet one
3) can you still have bolt-ons (exhaust, header, intake) with a turbo installed? - you should have an exhaust with a turbo but you cant have a header or intake because the turbo setup raplaces both
