Hiya.
I just want to see everyone's thoughts on my future setup, see if u guys would do anything different or see your input.
So far all i have is an AEM SRI and 2 1/4" Mandrel Exhaust to apexi N1
The AEM SRI is heatwrapped and has a custom dryer tubing Cold air thing
.
Anyway, heres my list of future mods ( i have an LX for people unaware)
EX headswap running with Vafc
Kamikaze header
new highflow cat ( since LX's have cat on exhaust manifold)
Crower Stage 1 cam( commuter car, wanna keep it streetable)
Maybe some headwork since the head will already be out.
I was wondering if anyone makes a good IM for the d17a2? I know you can custom fab one from Y8's but id like one made for our engines.
Anyway have any tips ? everything sound good? anything i can do better?
I want to keep the car streetable, then after im done school i will throw a zex kit on the car.

I don't think your going to be getting that much more power out of that setup though. I'd say maybe 10. MAYBE.

i doubt 10 whp? since a headswap alone will net around 7-10ish( maybe more since the LX have larger valve's adding a smaller HG will net a few more C/R points) . with some VAFC 2 tuning im hoping around 15, the stage 1 cam is 7-10 whp, I hear venom makes a d17a2 IM, so thats a few HP+ I/H/E, im hoping to get into the 140 whp's with tuning, maybe a cam gear to advance timing.Then to give it some kick maybe a ZEX kit with rev-limiters so i dont go boom.
I havent really thought of the pricing. I really would love to go turbo, but its still to damned expensive for these stupid 7thgen's.
My prices are in Canadian.
VAFC2 = $350
kamikaze header = $400
EX header = found one for $650
AEM cam gear = $200
Crower stage 1 = $400
Venom Intake Manifold= ?? does it exist?
Zex wet kit = $800
$2800... maybe its a lot, but here in Vancouver full turbo kits are still around $5g's... to much IMO, then u gotta get AEM, so its just not worth it yet.
Im hoping that gives me around 140whp with some tuning, and maybe 190 with a 50shot. Should be good enough for 13 second passes, and a decent daily drive/ reliable.
Someone on Honda-tech said venom made a d17a2 IM, yet i cant find one. Can any1 clarify if they exist?

yeah thats about right. being a LX is 10hp less then a ex. dont htink its worth the money. better off just turboing it or selling it.

I think you should leave the ITM alone. Ours is pretty much tuned to max efficiency (as is the entire engin) and chaning the manifold has only proved to be useful if you are running boost. That manifold was designed around a car that was running a turbo in the first place.
