Intake "POP"

So I've had my ractive SRI installed for a few days, im really happy with it..and it exceeds my expectations.

Anyways...its made a loud almost backfire POP noise twice now...once barely noticable, and once it was quite loud.

I did some searching, and found some posts relating to the backfire, I think one said it was just magnafied, because the intake...but it backfires anyways...or something...
I just wanted a bit more insight on the POP...anybody know anything?

Whats nothing tho? I just want a reason for this I guess....
If it was carbed, i could see adding more air, and not adjusting for fuel, would be a problem... but in this case, the computer is compensating, evening out the mixture.... and there dosent really seem to be a reason for the "POP"
It only happens to me when full throttle, then switching gears faily quickly....and full throttle again..and I've done that countless times since the installation, and again..only happened twice???
Im confused here!

etdigitalis should not be trusted
just a thought, but maybe it pops 'cause stuff is getting into your engine besides air and fuel.
higher flow air filters often allow larger particles to pass through them... so it's an increase in performance for a loss in protection (however subtle a loss it is).

when you install the intake you should have pulled off the negitive battery cable so that the ECU resets itself. then after you install the intake you should allow the car to idle for at least 10-20 minutes so that the ECU can relearn... after that you should be fine

what kind of gas are you using regular or super... did you get bad gas???

our car should only use regular no matter what... as super needs a much higher compression ratio to burn properly it may cause knocking or the POP you hear

^^or you could just pull the ECU fuse. It's alot easier IMO.

yeah..I run regular...Actually, I got my Honda dealer to install it...I do this with all mods, so I have somebody to blame if something bad DOES happen... But I was there when he installed it, and come to think of it...he didnt reset the ECU
