Price for intakes?

I went to price a K&N short ram intake for my 03 civic lx... I cant find one for less then 298$ canadian....
I priced other intakes, the Weapon-R intake was like 149...but it looks like its junk.... The rest were right in the 250-300 range...
Where should I buy my intake??

if all these intakes are just a metal tube, has anyone just taken the resonator box out, and seen how it performs?

stick with stock

unless you are gonna be above 5000 rpms all the time, stick with stock. i had an weapon r secret weapon and i liked the top end pull, but i felt like i hade to rev it to the moon to get moving. there was a HUGE loss in tourqe compared to stock and very little gained top end. dont waiste your mone save it for something that will make a bigger diffrence like your suspension set up. I have the stock intake and a megan racing cat back and i have stock tourqe power but much better top end so ive got the best of both worlds. i apid only 300 shipped for my exhaust from optioimports.com. if you are stuck on buying an intake let me know and ill sell you my old one. it was on my car for 1 month.
