So im thinking about getting a K&N FIPK or typhoon...

But i read some reviews saying that intakes dropped gas mileage like 2-4mpg (depending on how you drive), and ive read other reviews on this site and heard from other people that say intake improves gas mileage...

Yea and i drive about 75 miles a day to/from work and school and i bought a civic cause of the gas mileage/reliability/aesthetics and not because it was capable of being a horsepower monster so yea ill take the 2-4 mpg over the nice noise and that whopping 3hp to the wheels.

So anyway what are some of you peoples experiences with intakes and mpg?




BTW: I did do a search but there was not enough info compiled together for make me come to a solid general conclusion

yeah it does. when i had my injen intake, i got about 280 miles on a full tank. without it, doing the same type of driving to the same places, i get about 310 miles on a full tank. so if your doing a lot of highway driving with a intake you'll still get good mpg but without it you'll get even better mpg. more air = more fuel.

The short answer is...it can but it doesn't have to...depends on your driving

you answered your own question on your 1st post.... depending on how you drive. The problem is, ppl start getting addicted to the sound so they constantly mash the pedal and end up getting worst gas milleage.
