start off with the basics and look around the site. Tighten the throttle cable cause I bet its already loose from the factory. That will make the gas more responsive. I know for the tranny you can get stuff like short shifter, bushings, and some other stuff. Not sure exactly cause I have an auto. It has some decent pull but also alot of mods. Check out the hyper voltage system type MR from optauto.com its $180 but helps acceleration a bit. You just hook to your battery. The thing that made the most power ~10whp is port and polishing the head. Its expensive tho but dealer will never know.

check out the new full crower stroker kit its like $4500, but 14:1 compression add that to thier new cam/valves and some arp bolts to hold it all in and you got yourself one powerful d17 if yo uwanna spend the cash for that go for it. and for regular maintnence dealer will never know.

I'd like to keep the price somewhat below a new high horsepower engine, since that would defeat the purpose and whatnot.
