unorthodox racing, underdrive pulley kit?

I see in the parts section this new pulley kit by unorthodox racing, and it says a possible 20 to 40 hp gain..my question is, if this is true, how much hp gain really?? and what are the downsides if any?

It won't give you that much. I think a 5hp gain is the maximum. Quicker revs too. The downside is if you run a lot of electrical accessories, then you need a bigger alternator because these pullies also lower alternator output by 10%.

Your will also need more effort to steer becasue the power steering pump is turning slower. I'd agree with the 5hp improve.

Companies always post the Highest gains their product has produced. Which is most likely not for your vehicle. Some Exhaust systems free up well over 30HP..On Highly modified turbo-charged engines when comparing the to stock.. but they never advertise the fine print. Some Intakes can give you 20HP... (On Model X only) Like an intake for my old 1974 Coronet.. Turned it from a 160HP engine to a 184HP engine.. But at a loss of torque.. then I swapped engines for a blown 426 Hemi Police spec engine (had a cracked block that was re-welded and resleeved)
